Building Ventilation
Ventilation
is a big deal in today's rising
heating costs. To get the most
from your heating and air-conditioning
dollar you need to be sure that
your home or business is properly
ventilated and insulated. Shawn
Saunders Company can inspect your
home or business and advise you
what may be involved to bring your
building up to today's standards.
The most common
method of venting new construction
is using a vented soffitt for the
air to flow into the attic and
a ridge vent that runs the length
of the roof peak. The air inlet
at the soffitt and the ridge vent
both need to be sized to allow
the proper exhausting of attic
air.
Many older homes
can benefit from increasing older
vents to allow better air flow
into the attic. This can be accomplished
the the use of roof vents, gable
end vents, and walls vents in many
shapes , sizes , and colors. Whole
house fans and attic fans can also
make a large difference in the
comfort of your home all year long.
